Mohammad Shami is known for being outspoken and he doesn't shy away from speaking his heart out. Last month he slammed media outets for circulating fake news on his injury, and now he has hit back at former India cricketer, Sanjay Mankrekar for his statememt on Shami's IPL price tag.
A couple of days ago, Manjrekar was asked about Shami's IPL future and he stated that his price tag might drop due to his history with injuries. He added that there will be interest from the franchises to buy Mohammad Shami, but he won't go for a high price because the speedster hasn't played competitive cricket for one year.
"There will definitely be interest from teams, but given Shami's injury history—and this recent one took a significant amount of time to recover—there’s always a concern about a potential breakdown during the season," Manjrekar said on Star Sports.
However, this didn't go well with Shami who responded to Manjrekar with an Instagram story. In the post, the Indian pacer took a subtle dig at the veteran cricketer and urged people to meet Manjrekar to know more about their future.
Manjrekar has had history of taking digs at current Indian cricketers. His beef with Ravindra Jadeja is known to the entire world, and recently, he also criticised Gautam Gambhir for his behaviour during India's press conference before the Australian tour.
Shami likely to be a part of India's BGT squad
Shami, last played for India during the 2023 World Cup final and since then he has ben sidelined with an Achilles' heel injury. Earlier this year, the fast bowler underwent a successful surgery and started his rehabilitation.
