During the Gujarat Giants’ match against Delhi Capitals on Sunday night, Anushka Sharma hurt her right hand. Although she completed the game, scans later confirmed a minor injury, forcing the team management to rest her as a precaution.
The franchise released a statement confirming that Anushka will be out for a short period and is under close medical supervision.
She has travelled with the team to Navi Mumbai and was seen with her right hand strapped, but will not take part in the match against the Mumbai Indians.
According to Cricbuzz, Delhi batter Ayushi Soni has been named as her replacement for the game. The timing of the injury is unfortunate for Gujarat, as Anushka had made an immediate impact in the tournament.

She announced her arrival in style on debut against UP Warriorz, scoring a composed 44 off 30 balls at No.3.
Her knock helped Gujarat post a big total of 207 runs and secure a 10-run win. She followed it up with a stunning boundary save against the Delhi Capitals.
Born on April 5, 2003, Anushka Sharma has scored over 600 runs in the domestic circuit and picked up more than 20 wickets.
