Team India defeated South Africa on June 29 and since then the fans and everyone in the country have been waiting for the team. Finally, the Indian team landed in Delhi on June 4, 2024, and met the Prime Minister Of India-Narendra Modi.

The 'Men in Blue' met the Prime Minister at his residence in Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi for a special breakfast and celebration for the historic win. 

PM Modi congratulated the T20 World Cup-winning team during the hour-long meeting. Earlier, captain Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid, and Virat Kohli also cut a special cake prepared by the chef at the hotel.


Virat Kohli's 'Heartfelt Message' After Meeting PM Modi

After the meeting, Virat Kohli shared a 'heartfelt post' on Instagram and thanked the honourable prime minister for the invitation. He also expressed himself and stated that it was an honour and a great feeling to meet him.  

He captioned the post: What a great honour meeting our honourable prime minister shri narendra modi ji today @narendramodi. Thank you sir for inviting us to the prime ministers residence. 🇮🇳



The India team donned a customised special Indian jersey with 'Champions' written on it when they left to meet PM Modi. He hosted the players not just for a special breakfast but also had a wholehearted conversation to listen to the experiences of the World Cup heroes in the USA and the Caribbean.

After meeting him, the team left for Mumbai and will participate in the open bus victory parade arranged by the BCCI.  The team will also be felicitated at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
