Fans gathered in immense numbers after 'Men in Blue' arrived at New Delhi airport after winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup on Thursday, July 4, 2024. Team India defeated South Africa in a high-octane final on June 29 but could not return and had to wait for four days because of adverse weather conditions due to cyclone 'Beryl'. 

The BCCI made special arrangements and booked a charter flight that brought the Indian players alongside media personnel back to India. 

The team received an immense welcome and fans gathered in massive numbers to celebrate this historic victory. But Virat Kohli, the local boy, grabbed all the attention and limelight as fans present at the hotel chanted his name and showered immense love and respect.

In a video that is going viral, fans and cricket lovers were present at the hotel and welcomed the 'KING' with full joy and enthusiasm.

 The 35-year-old cricketer was not in his best form with the bat before heading into the final but stepped up for the team when it mattered the most and played the most crucial knock. Notably, he was adjudged Player of the Match of the final for his match-winning knock of 76 (59) in the final. 

In a recent development, the team has reached PM Narendra Modi's house for a 'special breakfast' where the Prime Minister will greet and celebrate with the team. 

After that, Rohit Sharma and the team will depart for Mumbai, where the BCCI has arranged an open bus road show for the fans to get a closer look at their stars and join the team to celebrate this iconic victory. The team will also be felicitated at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
