The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is currently underway, with India leading the five-match series 1-0. Before the Pink-ball day-night Test in Adelaide on December 6, India is scheduled to play a warm-up match against the Prime Minister's XI at Manuka Oval.

This warm-up game will take place on November 30 and December 1. India will field a team featuring several veterans, while the Prime Minister's XI will include a relatively less experienced squad. Ahead of the Test, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese met with Indian stars including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah, having a brief conversation with them.

The Prime Minister welcomed the Indian cricket team to Parliament house on Wednesday and conversed with Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah briefly. The prime Minister lauded Bumrah, saying, "Your style is very different from everyone. Great effort".

While conversing with Virat, Albanese took a dig at Australia's poor performance and lauded Kohli's century. "Good time in Perth. Bloody hell, as if we weren't suffering enough at that point," to which Kohli sarcastically replied, "You know...always gotta add some spice to it."

Albanese then moved on to shake hands with Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant as well. After the meet, the PM posted a photo with the players on X and vouched for the Aussies to win. "Big challenge ahead for the PM's XI at Manuka Oval this week against an amazing Indian side. But as I said to PM Narendra Modi, I am backing the Aussies to get the job done."

The Indian team will be on a high after their confident victory over Australia in Perth. The warm-up match will be a crucial event for the Rohit Sharma-led side to prepare for the Adelaide Test.
