The three-match Bangladesh Women vs. Ireland Women's team ODI series had just started and the very first match at Sher-e-Bangla stadium saw an action packed match. While both the teams gave their best, the match saw some great athleticism and reflexes from Bangladesh's side.

Bangladesh's Shorna Akter pulled off a remarkable fielding effort to run out Ireland's Leah Paul. Akter showcased remarkable athleticism and quick reflexes on the field, catching both batter Laura Delany and non-striker Leah Paul off guard.

In the 20th over of the match, Rabeya Khan bowled a flighted delivery, Leah Paul attempted a quick single. However, Shorna Akter, fielding at mid-off, reacted swiftly. She quickly collected the ball and despite having a blind-zone towards the bowler's end, she quickly turned around to throw the ball very close to the wicket. Rabeya Khan collected the ball and spared no time to dismiss Paul off.

Bangladesh Women tears apart Ireland Women's batting lineup

Bangladesh Women made a strong statement in their inaugural ODI series against Ireland Women, securing a convincing 154-run victory in the opening match.

The hosts laid the foundation for the win with a formidable batting performance. Fargana Hoque anchored the innings with a patient 61-run knock, while Sharmin Akhter (96) and Nigar Sultana (28) provided the fireworks.

Bangladesh finished their innings on a strong note, posting a challenging total of 252/4. In reply, Ireland struggled to get going. Marufa Akter made holes in the batting lineup with the new ball.

Sarah Forbes and Orla Prendergast tried to resist, but the consistent pressure from the Bangladesh bowlers, particularly Nahida Akter (3/23) and Sultana Khatun (3/23), proved too much for the Irish batters. Ultimately, Ireland were bowled out for 98 runs within 28.5 overs, handing Bangladesh an easy victory.
