Chennai Super Kings have built a strong squad for IPL 2025 after a great job at the recently concluded mega auction in Jeddah. The five-time winners are considered to be the favourites to lift the title and have brought several reliable star power to their squad.

While they also have the likes of MS Dhoni and other retained stars, this article will shed light on three X-Factors for CSK in the upcoming season. 

1. Rahul Tripathi

CSK have bought Tripathi for 3.40 crores at the auction. Tripathi has played for several franchises in the past, and his inconsistency has been one of the reasons behind his lack of growth in the cash-studded league. 

Nonetheless, Tripathi has time and time again shown his class and talent. He also scored 400+ runs in the 2022 season, and it also earned him an India selection. Thus, Tripathi will be the X-factor for CSK. 

2. Anshul Kamboj

Anshul Kamboj, who has been impressive in domestic cricket, will be playing for CSK. Kamboj rose to fame after doing well for Haryana in domestic cricket and also took a 10-wicket in an innings. 

The right-arm seamer is doing well and looks like the next big thing in cricket. Thus, he can become a star pacer like Deepak Chahar for the five-time winners in the upcoming season. 

3. Rachin Ravindra

Rachin had a terrible IPL 2024 and looked a pale shadow of his version during the 2023 World Cup in India. Nonetheless, he is likely to be an X-Factor for CSK in the coming season as he looks more confident with the bat and is assured of his place in the starting XI. 

Further, when it comes to Chepauk, Rachin would be a crucial player, as he can also pitch in four overs of spin and form a lethal bowling line-up alongside Noor Ahmed, Ravi Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja.
