In a significant development, veteran Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell has been fined for breaching the IPL code of conduct during the high-voltage PBKS vs CSK clash. Led by Shreyas Iyer, Punjab Kings sustained their dream run in the IPL 2025, defeating CSK by 18 runs.

According to IPL's media release, Glenn Maxwell was found guilty of committing a level 1 offence under article 2.2 of IPL code of conduct. As a result, the experienced all-rounder was fined 25 per cent of his match fees besides being handed one demerit point.
Maxwell admitted to the offence of abusing cricket equipment and accepted the sanctions.
"Article 2.2 includes any action(s) outside the course of normal cricket actions, such as hitting or kicking the wickets and any action(s) which deliberately (i.e. intentionally), recklessly or negligently (in either case even if accidental) results in damage to the advertising boards, boundary fences, dressing room doors, mirrors, windows and other fixtures and fittings. For example, this offence may be committed, without limitation, when a Player swings his/her bat vigorously in frustration and causes damage to an advertising board," the rule states.
Priyansh Arya's Fireworks Ensure Smooth Victory For PBKS
Regarding the match, Punjab Kings showcased commendable skills across departments, swatting aside CSK by a convincing margin. Uncapped opener Priyansh Arya starred with the bat, slamming a belligerent 42-ball 103.
His power-packed knock, that involved seven boundaries and nine humongous sixes, propelled the Kings to a whopping total of 219 runs. In response, CSK finished their innings on 201 for five, falling short of the target by 18 runs.
