In a significant development, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the player of the month nominees for the month of March. The apex body rewards best international player of each month for his prolific performances.

No Kohli, Rohit; Shreyas Iyer Nominated For Player Of The Month

Experienced batter Shreyas Iyer is the only Indian player to be nominated by the ICC for the player of the month award. He enjoyed stellar success last month, showcasing his batting attributes for India in the ICC Champions Trophy.

The stylish batter slammed 172 runs in three ODIs last month, averaging 57.33 and striking at a rate of 77.47. He exhibited remarkable consistency, scoring the most runs for India and helping them emerge victorious in the competition.

Meanwhile, Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra are the other contenders for the prestigious award. Duffy was exceptional with the ball in the five-match T20I series against Pakistan, scalping 13 wickets at an average of 8.38 and a superb economy rate of 6.17.

He registered a clinical four-wicket haul in the opening T20I before derailing Pakistan with sensational figures of 4 for 20 in the fourth game. He eventually claimed the number one spot in the ICC men's T20I bowling rankings.

On the other hand, Rachin Ravindra managed 151 runs at a marvellous average of 50.33. He also bagged three wickets at a superb economy of 4.66 with his wily left-arm off-spin.

Thus, all three players showcased commendable consistency in international cricket last month, and it would be interesting to see who claims the player of the month award.
