How have Ex-RCB stars performed in IPL 2025 [Source: @mufaddal_vohra/X.com]
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has started with some great matches with all the ten teams having played once. It has been an exciting start to the 18th season of the cash-rich league and one of the teams who had a terrific start was the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
The team headed into Eden Gardens as the underdogs against Kolkata Knight Riders, but came out on top as they thrashed the defending champions in their own den. The new-looked side released quite a few superstars prior to the season which raised eyebrows, but the released stars were fetched by other IPL teams.
In this piece, we will look at how the 4 big rejected players by RCB performed for their franchises on match week 1.
1) Glenn Maxwell
The star of RCB side in the previous editions, Glenn Maxwell had an underwhelming season last year and was released by the franchise. He was roped in by his previous team, the Punjab Kings and made his second debut for them against Gujarat Titans.
The platform was set when Maxwell came out to bat, but the Aussie star recorded a 1-ball duck on his Punjab return and became the IPL player with the most ducks in the league. He also embarrassed himself by not going for the review when he was clearly not out.
2) Faf du Plessis
The captain of the RCB for the last three seasons, Faf du Plessis was also released by the team and was snatched by the Delhi Capitals as their new vice-captain made his debut against the Lucknow Super Giants.

(Faf stats Vs LSG)
Unlike Maxwell, he had a decent outing chasing in excess of 200, but couldn't score big as he was dismissed for a well-compiled 29. Faf, however, won't be too disappointed with his performance.
3) Will Jacks
The eyebrows were raised when RCB let go off Will Jacks and allowed the Mumbai Indians to snatch him away with utmost ease. The decision was criticised, but it seems RCB did the right thing as Jacks failed on his MI debut Vs CSK.
On a tricky wicket at the Chepauk, Jacks looked in decent touch, but was outfoxed by R Ashwin as he got dismissed for a 7-ball 11. He looked decent and at Wankhede, his real prowess will be shown, but for match day 1, he flopped.
4) Mohammed Siraj
An emotional heartbreak occurred when RCB decided not to retain their loyal player, Mohammed Siraj. However, RCB's loss became Gujarat Titans' boom as he was drafted in their squad and made his debut against the Punjab Kings.
However, the pacer endured a horrific debut as Shreyas Iyer and Priyansh Arya took him to the cleaners.

(Siraj numbers vs PBKS)
As the numbers suggests, he was not economical and was taken apart by the Punjab Kings batters. Once the swing went away, Siraj was not threatening at all and the opposition took advantage of it.
