Performing consistently across three different formats in international cricket is undoubtedly a very demanding ordeal. The severe burden of all three formats can seriously torment a player’s mental and physical composure.

But the Indian batting icon Virat Kohli seems to be defying such notions. Representing India since 2008 across all three formats, Virat has looked a class apart when compared to his batting rivals. One trait that truly stands out in Kohli’s batting is his ability to score runs consistently in all three formats.

As a matter of fact, Kohli is the only batsman in the history of cricket to average in excess of 50 in Tests, ODIs, & T20Is. Ahead of India’s multi-format, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir lavished praise on the 35-year-old and has been mighty impressed to see his longevity and consistency across all three formats.

During an interaction with Star Sports, Gambhir stated that Kohli has had a tremendous impact on the game and identified longevity and consistency as some of the key ingredients that help him perform proportionately across all formats.

In an era where many players sacrifice Test cricket in favor of T20 leagues, Kohli stands out by effortlessly participating in all three formats. His remarkable consistency in scoring runs, coupled with his ability to make subtle adjustments, serves as a source of inspiration for aspiring young players.

Whenever question marks are raised regarding his ongoing form with the bat, Kohli answers his critics appropriately with his willow. The Indian chase master experienced a lean patch between 2019 to 2022 where he failed to notch up a single century. But the King roared back to form in late 2022 by smashing a blazing T20I century against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup. Since then, there has been no looking back for the Delhi-based batter.
