India's tour of South Africa 2021-2022 was a disaster both on and off the field, where the whole Virat Kohli and BCCI spat took precedence.

Now, India are gearing up to visit the African nation for a full-fledged tour consisting of three T20Is, three ODIs, and two Tests.

Former skipper Kohli will only feature in the red-ball leg, having adopted out of the T20Is and ODIs, much like Rohit Sharma.

Ex-Indian pacer S Sreesanth, who exploded on the international scene following his 2006-07 South Africa, named Kohli as one of the 'X' factors for the upcoming tour while also mentioning Rahul.

Speaking to Firstpost, Sreesanth opined that Kohli loved to keep proving to himself more than anybody and will want to excel in the Rainbow nation.

Here's what Sreesanth said

"Virat Kohli. Virat loves to keep proving, rather than to anybody but to himself. I think he’s that cricketer who actually plays with that pride and he takes that pride in a very good way, not in an egoistic way. So pride for me, and for Virat also I’m sure it’s like personal responsibility in delivering excellence. So, I will go with Virat and KL Rahul."

Interestingly, Rahul was India's ODI captain during the 2021-22 tour, taking over the reins from Kohli. Both will be in action during the Test series scheduled after the white-ball leg.
