A cricketer par excellence, Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan's credentials as an all-rounder are unmatched, however, his recent action on the field have been questionable for many.

Hasan, who has been ruled out of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India following a finger injury, has been in the thick of things for his controversial 'timed out' appeal against Angelo Mathews.

With Bangladesh already knocked out of the competition, Hasan's position as captain is under severe scrutiny, and his place within the international setup is also a question mark according to former Indian opener Aakash Chopra.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra raised concerns over Hasan's cricketing future after his time-out controversy and finger injury. The former KKR player did maintain that the all-rounder would know about his international future, but such aspects would be factored in.

Here's what Chopra said

"He would know how long and whether he will play going forward because a lot of times going and coming, captaincy and no captaincy, fight with Tamim (Iqbal), or something else, it keeps on happening with him."

"This World Cup has been extremely cold. Let's be fair, it hasn't been a very good World Cup. There is just one score above 50, which came in the last match, and the team also hasn't done well. The captaincy was also not that great. So I don't know, let's see what happens going forward."

In the World Cup, the 36-year-old managed just nine wickets and scored 186 runs, which is drastically down from his showing in World Cup 2019.
