Ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, India’s official jersey was unveiled without an official sponsor for the first time in many decades. Team India’s jerseys had no sponsor logos splashed across them after Dream11’s abrupt exit.
Fantasy sports giant Dream11 pulled out of its deal with the BCCI after the government’s new Online Gaming Act 2025 banned money-based fantasy gaming platforms.
With the sudden exit of Dream11, the men in blue, led by captain Suryakumar Yadav, were seen training in plain jerseys without any branding.
India To Don Plain Jersey For Asia Cup 2025
With days left for the Asia Cup 2025 to begin, India’s official jersey for the event was leaked on social media. All-rounder Shivam Dube is seen posing with the new jersey, which had no sponsor details.

Instead, the Dream11 logo was replaced with ‘INDIA’. Surprisingly, fans online have been showering love on this fresh look. The stripped-down design has struck a chord with supporters who believe the jersey now feels more authentic and classic, free from the clutter of commercial logos.
However, this sponsorless trend won’t last long. On September 2, the BCCI invited bids for a new lead sponsor, but with strict conditions. Companies tied to online money gaming are barred, and only firms with an annual turnover of ₹300 crore or more can apply.
Regardless, for the Asia Cup, India will field without any sponsor name. By the time the next series begins, the BCCI is expected to close a deal.
BCCI’s Devajit Saikia Explains Why Dream11 Deal Ended
Devajit Saikia, BCCI secretary, confirmed that the board ended its jersey sponsorship deal with Dream11 due to the government’s new Online Gaming Bill 2025, which bans money-based fantasy gaming.
Dream11 had signed a three-year contract in 2023, set to run till March 2026, but the law forced an early termination. Saikia, talking to ANI, said the BCCI has now floated a fresh tender for a new sponsor from 2026 to 2027, with revised rates and stricter eligibility.
He added that the new law promotes e-sports while outlawing harmful money gaming, ensuring Team India’s jersey deal complies with government regulations.
