How Much BCCI Will Charge Per Match And What’s Changed [Source: @mufaddal_vohra/X.com]
BCCI is set to have a new sponsor on its jerseys after Dream11, the current lead sponsor, decided to step away. The fantasy sports platform, which had signed a three-year deal worth ₹358 crore in July 2023, informed the BCCI that it would no longer continue in the role.
The move comes in the wake of a new law that bans real-money online gaming in India, forcing Dream11 to relook at its priorities. With Dream11 out, BCCI has now invited bids for a new sponsor and, at the same time, increased the per-match sponsorship rates.
How Much Did Dream11 Pay For Per Match?
Dream11 signed a three-year deal worth ₹358 crore in July 2023. Notably, they were paying ₹3.17 crore per bilateral match (India vs one country) and ₹1.12 crore per multilateral match (tournaments like ICC or Asia Cup).
How Much Is BCCI Asking Now?
The new base price set by BCCI is ₹3.5 crore per bilateral match (about 10% higher) and ₹1.5 crore per multilateral match (about 3% higher).
Dream11 vs New Sponsor Rates
Match Type | Dream11 Rate | New Base Price | Increase |
Bilateral Match | ₹3.17 crore | ₹3.5 crore | ~10% |
Multilateral Match | ₹1.12 crore | ₹1.5 crore | ~3% |
It is important to mention that this difference is because in bilateral series, the sponsor’s name is on the front of the jersey (more visible). In ICC/ACC tournaments, the logo only appears on the sleeve, which gets less attention.
The revised rates mean that BCCI is seeking a targeted uplift of around 10 percent in bilateral contests and about three percent in multilateral matches. Over the next three years, the Indian team is scheduled to play roughly 130 matches, including two major global tournaments, the T20 World Cup in 2026 and the ODI World Cup in 2027.
At the revised base price, BCCI could earn upwards of ₹400 crore, although the final figure could be significantly higher depending on how aggressively brands bid for the rights.
The bidding for the new sponsorship deal is scheduled for September 16, 2025. With the Asia Cup beginning on September 9, it is likely that the Indian team will play the tournament without any sponsor’s logo on the front of the jersey.
