Pakistan cricket is currently going through a turmoil with their national team not living upto its standards and consistently underperforming in the ICC events. In the 2023 ODI World Cup, Pakistan could not qualify for the semis, while they were eliminated in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Pakistan Star Accused Of Dishonesty During T20 World Cup

They could not live upto the billing in the 2025 Champions Trophy as well and now another news has popped up which would go down as humiliation for Pakistan cricket fraternity. Waheed Khan, a senior journalist of Pakistan has claimed on his official X handle that a Pakistan player bought three bats during the T20 World Cup 2024.

Waheed stats that the bats were bought from a New Jersey store who travelled all the way to New York to deliver the bat. However, the popular Pakistan player has still not paid the money for the bats and is not even responding to the calls made by the store owner.

There is no clarity on who the player is. However, he is expected to be a renowned Pakistan batter. The likes of Babar Azam, Rizwan, Saim Ayub And Fakhar Zaman all were part of that Pakistan squad and there are chances that Waheed is referring to one of them.

If the claims are true, it is not a good sign for the reputation of Pakistan cricket which is already suffered a lot in recent times. Pakistan are currently playing T20I series against New Zealand and there is expected to be more clarity on the cheating claims by Waheed in the coming future.
