Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma are officially divorced. After months of “are they, aren’t they?” whispers and cryptic posts, the two showed up at Bandra family court and wrapped up their four-year-long journey.

But there’s a big question that still has fans scratching their heads: were they actually living separately since 2022 like they claim? Let’s dig in and separate fact from fiction.

Living Separately Since June 2022 Or Were They?

As per legal reports, both Chahal and Dhanashree stated they had been living apart since June 2022. On paper, that’s a long stretch.

Now here’s the twist in the tale. During IPL 2023, Dhanashree was right there in the stands, cheering for Yuzi while he was playing for Rajasthan Royals. Not just once. Multiple matches. On camera. All smiles.

And it doesn’t stop there. Chahal even opened up about how much her presence meant to him. In a sweet moment during the IPL 2023 season, he said,

“I feel more confident when she is with me... She gives me strength and positive vibes... I love seeing her in the stands. She even observes my bowling closely – and sometimes predicts where I’ll bowl!”

Well, now isn’t that something?

The timelines just don’t match. On one side, you’ve got official statements of living apart since mid-2022. On the other, you’ve got public appearances, interviews, and social media clips from 2023 that scream otherwise.

To be honest, only the two of them know what actually went down. Maybe they were trying to make things work while things were already falling apart behind closed doors. Maybe the appearances were just for show. Who knows?

Their actions on and off the field told a different story altogether. But at the end of the day, it’s their personal life. What matters now is that both have chosen to move on.

The Fairytale Is Over & Yuzi Is Ready For A New Innings

With the divorce now done and dusted, Chahal’s all set for a fresh start both on and off the field. And he’s not slowing down.

He is set to play for Punjab Kings in the upcoming IPL 2025. The leggie became the most expensive spinner every in IPL history as he was bought by the Punjab-based franchise for a whopping INR 18 crore.
