During the fourth Test match between England and India at Old Trafford in Manchester, a surprising incident took place. A cricket fan wearing a Pakistan team jersey was asked by stadium police to remove or change his shirt. This moment was captured on video and quickly went viral online.

At first, one security officer spoke to the fan. Then, a female police officer joined the conversation to explain why the jersey needed to be removed. The fan, however, refused to take it off. He said he was just watching the match peacefully and that no Indian fans around him had complained.

As more people noticed the situation, some spectators began filming the interaction. The fan even told the officers, “Take me with force,” showing he was not willing to cooperate easily. Eventually, more police and staff came over to calm things down. Although the moment was tense, it stayed peaceful.

Why Was The Pakistan Jersey Not Allowed?

According to a report from TOI, the stadium rules says that the fans are only allowed to wear clothing that supports the teams playing in the match in this case, England or India. Pakistan was not part of this game, so officials said the fan’s jersey went against stadium policy.

Although the fan felt his shirt wasn’t hurting anyone, the rules are meant to avoid any possible conflict, especially since India and Pakistan have a long history of political tension. This rivalry often makes even small actions feel bigger during matches, so the stadium tries to keep things neutral and safe.

While this was just one incident, it reflects the larger picture. India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral cricket series in years because of ongoing political issues. However, they are expected to face off soon in the Asia Cup 2025.

The tournament will start in September, and the two teams are in the same group, meaning they will definitely meet at least once on September 14.
