Legendary South African batter Faf du Plessis oozed his class for Texas Super Kings, slamming a belligerent hundred in the recently concluded Major League Cricket (MLC) affair against San Francisco Unicorns. Opening the batting for TSK, du Plessis hammered 100 runs off just 51 balls, helping the Super Kings post a massive score of 198 runs. 

Faf Registers Joint-Most Tons In MLC History

After being put into bat first, TSK had a fabulous start to their innings, with Devon Conway and Faf du Plessis adding 97 runs for the first wicket. Although Conway departed for a run-a-ball 23, du Plessis continued his onslaught on the Unicorns, eventually bringing up a magnificent century. 

This was Faf du Plessis' second hundred in the Major League Cricket. Thus, the veteran cricketer equalled Finn Allen for the most number of centuries in the tournament.

Du Plessis Records More T20 Hundreds Than Gill, SKY, Gaikwad

Faf du Plessis' century in the high-voltage affair helped him go past Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav and Ruturaj Gaikwad on the list of batters with the most T20 hundreds. This was Faf's seventh century in the shortest format, and he surpassed these batters who have six tons each in T20s. 

However, his heroic knock didn't come in a winning cause, with San Francisco Unicorns successfully chasing the target inside 17 overs. Matthew Short and Finn Allen set the foundation with a blistering 117-run opening stand in just 8.3 overs. 

After Short got out, Jake Fraser-McGurk hammered a quick-fire 37-run cameo, ensuring an emphatic win for the rampant Unicorns. This was their fourth successive victory, as they consolidated the top position in the points table.
