Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 14-year-old cricket prodigy, has been making headlines ever since Rajasthan Royals signed him for ₹1.10 crore in the IPL auction. He made history as the youngest player to score a century in the Indian Premier League (IPL), hitting a hundred against Chennai Super Kings. Since then, he has been a key player in the team’s batting lineup.
What's The Truth Behind The Controversy?
However, balancing cricket and education has been challenging for the young star. Recently, rumours spread on social media that Vaibhav had failed his 10th standard board exams. These rumours started after a fan page called "Satirelogy" posted a joke about Vaibhav’s supposed failure. Unfortunately, many people took the joke seriously, leading to heated discussions online.
The post humorously claimed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had requested a “DRS-style review” of Vaibhav’s exam papers to check for grading mistakes. While the post was clearly labeled as satire and meant for entertainment, the joke still fooled many, creating a lot of confusion.
The truth is, Vaibhav is only a Class 8 student at Modesty School in Tajpur, Bihar. So, the idea of him failing the 10th standard board exams is completely false.
Vaibhav’s Journey So Far In Cricket
Vaibhav Suryavanshi was born on March 27, 2011, in Tajpur village, Bihar. He started playing cricket at the age of four, trained by his father. At nine, he joined a cricket academy in Samastipur, where his talent quickly became evident. At 12, he made a mark by scoring 400 runs in five matches during the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. In January 2024, he made his first-class debut for Bihar, becoming the second-youngest player in Ranji Trophy history.
Meanwhile, the young star will be seen in action in the remaining RR matches in the tournament on May 18 and 20.
