Root backs Buttler amidst T20 World Cup losses

Despite England's losses in the T20 World Cup, Joe Root has thrown his support behind Jos Buttler.

Despite England's defeats against Australia and a match being washed out, Root remains confident that Buttler is the right person to lead England to the knockout stages.

Root believes that England will turn the tables starting from their match against Oman on Thursday.

Root was asked if Buttler should be removed as the captain of England T20 team.

“Jos is one of my good friends. I think he’s a brilliant captain so I don’t think there’s any question. I think they’ll be absolutely fine, they’ve got a wonderful squad of players. They know exactly what they need to do."-Root said.

Ben Stokes replaced Joe Root as the captain of England test team. However Root continue to be an integral part of England team.
