After losing the ODI series, Ireland Women cricket team will host England Women team in a two-game T20I series starting from September 14. Both games will be played at the Castle Avenue stadium in Dublin.

England Women’s white ball tour to Ireland has been so far successful. They won the three-game ODI series 2-1 with a dominant all-round performance.

Now, the focus shifts to the T20I series. Notably, for the two-game T20I series, England has named a ‘B’ squad, thus resting all the senior players who are set to be a part of the impending Women’s T20 World Cup. 

The idea is to allow promising junior players an opportunity to showcase their talent so that England can test their bench strength ahead of the ICC event.

On the other hand, Ireland have failed to qualify for the T20 World Cup after losing qualifiers to Scotland. Hence, the host nation will be looking for redemption and rebuild themselves in the shorter format of the game.
