In the latest development, England Women have announced their squad for the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup, set to be held in the UAE from October 3. Heather Knight will lead the side, which will mark her fourth stint as captain in a Women's T20 World Cup.
The squad sees the inclusion of wicketkeeper Bess Heath and all-rounders Freya Kemp and Danielle Gibson, who are making their debut in a T20 World Cup.
These newcomers will bolster an experienced lineup that features prominent players like Sophie Ecclestone, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Danni Wyatt.

Interestingly, England has opted for a single frontline pacer, Lauren Bell, while relying on Dani Gibson, Sciver-Brunt, and Freya Kemp as seam-bowling all-rounders.
The spin attack will be spearheaded by Linsey Smith alongside Sophie Ecclestone. The team is scheduled to undergo a training camp in Abu Dhabi from September 13 to 24 before participating in the official warm-up games.
England has been placed in Group B, which includes Bangladesh, South Africa, Scotland, and the West Indies.
Their campaign kicks off against Bangladesh on October 5, followed by matches against South Africa on October 7, Scotland on October 13, and the West Indies on October 15.
The tournament, initially set to take place in Bangladesh, was moved to the UAE due to political unrest and student protests in Bangladesh. The ICC has since announced the revised schedule, with matches to be held in Dubai and Sharjah.
