Harmanpreet Kaur thanked the veteran fast bowler Jhulan Goswami for supporting her through tough times over the years.

Goswami, the leading wicket-taker in ODIs with 255 scalps, bid farewell to international cricket after featuring in her final game against England Women on Saturday at Lord's.

Goswami joined captain Kaur at the toss and was given freehold to take every key decision in the game as well.

Furthermore, Kaur shed tears during the team's huddle ahead of the game, while Goswami was seen consoling the skipper.

Batting first, India posted a total of 169, with contributions from Smriti Mandhana (50) and Deepti Sharma (68*). In response, the English team were all-out for 153, courtesy of Renuka Singh taking four wickets. Goswami bid adieu to her international career with figures of 2/30.

Following a clean sweep, Kaur reckoned that Goswami has been her biggest support system in tough times and a guiding force since her India debut in 2009.

"When I debuted, she was the leader, in my best times, many were supporting me, but even in my rough times, she was the one who supported. She is just a call away.

"I wanted to thank her and tell her she is always with us. She is a go-to person, I always called her at low times and she was someone always guiding me."
