One of the leading all-rounders in women's cricket, Australia's Ellyse Perry has re-signed with the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) franchise Sydney Sixes for further two years. Perry joined Sixers and 2015 and has since been the backbone of the franchise, scoring 3,769 runs at an average of 48.94.

She also captained the Sixers to their two back-to-back WBBL title wins (2016-17 and 2017-18) and is the second-highest run-getter in the league, with Beth Mooney leading the charts.  In a statement, the 32-year-old expressed her delight over continuing association with Sixers and lead them once gain.

Here's what Perry said

“It’s a lovely feeling to be able to continue at the Sixers for another two WBBL seasons. The club has been a special part of my career for almost a decade and I am proud of what we have achieved, both on and off the field, especially in terms of connecting with and inspiring lots of girls and boys to be involved in the game.

I’m really looking forward to the challenge this season presents, and seeing as many fans as we can at North Sydney Oval and the SCG."

Apart from Perry, Maitlan Brown, Erin Burns, Lauren Cheatle, Ashleigh Gardner, and Emma Hughes are also members of the Sixers squad for the upcoming WBBL 09 season.

Cricket NSW’s General Manager of Big Bash Leagues, Chris Botherway called Perry an amazing leader and wished the club more success ahead.

Perry-led Sixers will be in action for the WBBL 09 opener, taking on Melbourne Stars on October 19.
