The Sri Lanka Cricket Board has announced the 15-member squad for the ACC Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025. Dunith Wellalage has been appointed the captain of the Sri Lanka A side, while the squad also includes players like Ramesh Mendis, Nishan Madushka and Nuwanidu Fernando who have played for the senior Lankan side in recent times.
Milan Rathnayake will provide the balance to the squad as a seam-bowling all-rounder. He has done well for the senior side, too, and will be a player to watch out among the talented Sri Lankan players.
Dunith Wellalage, the captain of the side, has led Sri Lanka in the 2022 U19 World Cup and has been a regular member of the senior side. Sri Lanka have won the Emerging Asia Cup twice when the tournament was limited to U23 players, while they finished runners-up in the last edition.
