Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, earns maiden call-up in India's Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025 squad

14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has earned his maiden call-up to the India A squad for the upcoming Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025. The tournament is set to be held in Qatar from November 14 to 23. 

On Monday, BCCI unveiled the 15-member lineup, with Jitesh Sharma as captain and Naman Dhir as vice-captain.

Jitesh, who has been in impressive form both in international T20Is and the IPL, will lead a side packed with youthful energy and promise.

One of the most exciting players included is Priyansh Arya, who turned heads in IPL 2025 with his aggressive stroke play.

Alongside him, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s selection has particularly stood out, as the young sensation has dominated the junior cricket scene with consistent centuries and eye-catching performances.

The team will also feature promising talents like Nehal Wadhera, Yash Thakur, Harsh Dubey, Abhishek Porel, Yudhvir Singh and many more.

The tournament, to be played at the West End International Cricket Stadium in Doha, will feature India A in Group B, alongside UAE, Oman, and Pakistan A. 

India’s campaign kicks off against UAE on November 14, followed by high-profile clashes against Pakistan A on November 16 and Oman on November 18. 

It remains to be seen what India A’s stance against Pakistan will be. The Men’s senior Asia Cup 2025 saw large-scale drama unfold after India chose not to shake hands with the Pakistan team and also refused to accept the trophy from PCB and ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

Naqvi then seized the trophy and denied India their well-deserved title.
