ICC released its T20I team of the year for 2023, and as many as four Indians managed to find a place in the playing XI. Notably, Suryakumar Yadav was appointed the captain for the ultimate dream eleven.

In a year dominated by the ODI World Cup hype, the T20 Internationals managed to create a space of its own. This year, multiple bilateral series took place, which allowed young guns to showcase their talent on the big stage.

Meanwhile, ICC recently released its best T20I team of the year for 2023, which witnessed increased representation from the Indian side.

Suryakumar Yadav, who scored two centuries this year, found a place in the ICC Men’s T20 International Team of the Year for the second time in a row. However, this time, Yadav was awarded the honor of captaincy.

SKY took up leadership reigns of the shorter format after Rohit Sharma prioritized the Tests and ODI in the wake of the WTC final and ODI World Cup. Needless to say, SKY lived up to expectations beautifully.

Besides, promising opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal also found a spot. Jaiswal made noise in the Asian Games with a fantastic ton against Nepal. He also scored a fifty each against Australia and South Africa before transitioning into the whites.

Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikander Raza recorded an exceptional year with his all-round skills in the shorter format. While his side failed to qualify for the T20 World Cup, Raza forced the world to take notice. He scored 82* (35) and 52 (36) against Namibia while claiming 4/24 in the final game of the away series.

Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi broke shackles during the T20 series against Australia, which saw him bag the top spot in the ICC ranking. He took 18 wickets in just 44 overs. Bishnoi’s best came against Nepal in the Asian Games, wherein he took three wickets in his four-over spell.

Lastly, Arshdeep Singh, who rose to fame after the 2022 T20 World Cup, clipped 26 wickets in 21 appearances for India in 2023. His notable contributions came in against New Zealand, wherein he collected a couple of two-wicket hauls, and also, the spell of 3/20 against Sri Lanka in Rajkot stood out.
