Dinesh Karthik Joins Shikhar Dhawan; Set To Play Legends League Cricket

Dinesh Karthik, the former Indian wicketkeeper batter has announced his participation in the upcoming edition of the Legends League cricket. Recently, Shikhar Dhawan also joined the league and the 2024 season will be the third edition of the tournament which will feature legends of the game across the globe.

The wicketkeeper batter announced his retirement earlier this year, and is also set to become the first Indian player to play SA20. He will represent Paarl Royals in the South African league, while in the Legends League Cricket, he will play for Southern Superstars. 


Karthik expressed his excitement on joining the Legends League and as quoted by Sportskeeda he stated that he is both mentally and physically ready to play competitive cricket. He also thanked fans for their constant support and is looking forward to entertain them again.

"Playing at the Legends League Cricket is definitely something I am looking forward to after my retirement. I am up to the task both mentally and physically and look forward to playing the brand of cricket I have always enjoyed. Most importantly, to the fans, thank you for your constant support and I hope to entertain you once again on the field."

Dinesh Karthik played across formats for India and at the fag end of his career, he developed himself into a reliable finisher. He performed that role wonderfully for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in his last IPL season as well, and will be seen as a batting coach and mentor of RCB in the next season.
