Ahead of the first-ever edition of the International League T20 (ILT20), the Desert Vipers franchise have announced the signing of former Sri Lanka captain Dinesh Chandimal into their squad.

Besides Chandimal, Surrey's Gus Atkinson and Warwickshire's Jake Lintott have also joined the club.

Chandimal is currently playing in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2022-23 for the Colombo Stars and has amassed 187 runs in eight matches.

Atkinson represented the Oval Invincibles in The Hundred this season. The 23-year-old pacer was last seen playing for the Northern Warriors in the recently concluded Abu Dhabi T10 League.

Lintott, a T20 specialist, has taken 76 wickets in 64 matches at an average of 21.80. The left-arm wrist spinner has appeared for franchises like Southern Brave, Barbados Royals, Fortune Barishal, and Bangla Tiger.

The Vipers already have the likes of Alex Hales, Wanindu Hasaranga, Sam Billings, and Colin Munro in their setup. Former Australian skipper Tom Moody has been named Director of Cricket, with former England keeper James Foster donning head coach's hat.
