On Sunday evening, Chennai Super Kings had a tremendous start to their IPL 2025 campaign, securing an emphatic victory over arch-rivals Mumbai Indians in a high-octane clash. After restricting MI to a sub-par score of 155 runs, CSK chased the target in 19.1 overs, with Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad playing scintillating knocks.

Viral Video Accuses CSK Of Ball Tampering And Match Fixing

Meanwhile, amid CSK's dominance on home soil, a video went viral on social media, accusing them of ball tampering and match-fixing.

As it can clearly be seen, the first clip shows CSK pacer Khaleel Ahmed cleaning the ball while having a discussion with skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. As Khaleel didn't use his towel, fans speculated that he rubbed it with a prohibited substance, accusing him of tampering with the ball.

Another footage shows the conversation between an on-field umpire and former CSK captain MS Dhoni. From the clip, Dhoni can be seen telling something to the umpire, who in turn gives his approval with a thumbs-up gesture.

There's no clarity on the point of discussion, but fans speculated that the umpire as well as the cricketers were involved in a malicious act. Having said that, all these claims are baseless with no real substance in it, as CSK thoroughly outplayed MI to win the contest by four wickets.

With this win, the Super Kings opened their account on the IPL 2025 points table, while MI have yet to get off the mark. The Hardik Pandya-led team will take on Gujarat Titans in their next group-stage match on March 29.
