Indian veteran leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal wished his dad, KK Chahal, on Father’s Day. He posted an adorable picture featuring his father and mother on the social media platform, Instagram.

Chahal has made headlines an awful ample amount of times this year for his controversial divorce with ex-wife Dhanashree Verma and alleged relationship with internet personality RJ Mahvash.

However, throughout this emotional rollercoaster in his personal life, his family always stood like a rock to support Chahal.

Yuzvendra Chahal Sends Special Wish To Dad On Father’s Day

On June 15, 2025, the world celebrated Father’s Day. Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal shared a picture of his dad, KK Chahal, and mother, Sunita Devi, to celebrate the occasion.

Chahal last featured in IPL 2025 for Punjab Kings. In 14 games, he picked 16 wickets at a 9.55 economy, including two hat-tricks. His team, PBKS, played the final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) but lost the title race by 6 runs.

When Chahal’s Dad Wanted Him To Pursue Chess

Before becoming a professional cricketer, Yuzvendra Chahal was introduced to chess at the age of 6 by his father, KK Chahal. He quickly showed promise, winning a state-level tournament within months and becoming India’s Under-12 champion, eventually representing India at the World Youth Championship in Greece in 2003.

However, Chahal was determined to play cricket. His father, KK Chahal, revealed that Yuzvendra put a condition to only continue chess if they allowed him to play cricket as well.

“Cricket was always his first love. He was mad about cricket. He had put this condition that he will play and excel in chess only if we allow him to play cricket in future," KK Chahal told TOI (via Live Mint).

Eventually, the parents relented to their kid’s request, and the rest is history.
