MS Dhoni To Announce IPL Retirement? Rishabh Pant's CSK Joining Sparks Debate

India's swashbuckling keeper-batter Rishabh Pant might shift his base from Delhi Capitals to Chennai Super Kings ahead of the Indian Premier League next year. 

As per emerging reports, the Capitals are pondering over releasing Pant after removing legendary cricketer Ricky Ponting from the head coach's role. 


Pant to join CSK, Dhoni to retire from IPL?

The reports claim that the explosive southpaw could join the Super Kings if he is released by Delhi Capitals ahead of the mega auction next year. 

He has been a proven performer for the Capitals, amassing 3284 runs in 110 innings at an average of 35.31 and a blistering strike rate of 148.93. 

However, despite being impressive with the bat, Pant had a torrid season as the DC skipper, with his team reeling at sixth in the ten-team IPL 2024 standings. 

So, if the Capitals move on from him in a bid to revamp their leadership group, Pant might join CSK for the next season. 

Since he is 43 and struggling with a problematic knee, MS Dhoni might not play next season. 

He has already passed the leadership baton to Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Pant could be his ideal replacement in the Yellow Army. 

Although an official confirmation is yet to come on Pant's future in DC, it could be fitting to see him fill his idol's shoes in CSK.
