In a significant development, veteran South African batter Faf du Plessis has rejoined Delhi Capitals camp for the remainder of IPL 2025. Amid the speculations of him withdrawing from the remaining matches, Faf has strengthened the Capitals' lineup by returning to India for the marquee event.

The South African duo of Faf du Plessis and Tristan Stubbs has rejoined the Delhi Capitals for the remainder of the season. They had flown back to South Africa following the IPL 2025 suspension owing to the India-Pakistan military conflict along and beyond the LOC.
However, as they have returned to India for the remaining games, it has certainly boosted the Capitals, who are eyeing a spot in the IPL 2025 playoffs.
Faf blew hot and cold in the IPL before suspension, scoring 168 runs in six innings at an average of 28 and a strike rate of 128.24. On the other hand, Tristan Stubbs was impressive with the bat, amassing 259 runs across ten innings at an average of 51.80 and a strike rate of 151.46.
Mitchell Starc To Miss Remainder Of IPL 2025
Despite Du Plessis and Stubbs returning to the team, the absence of Mitchell Starc is going to be a tough pill to swallow for Delhi Capitals. Starc, their premier fast bowler, opted out of the tournament to focus on the upcoming World Test Championship final at Lord's.
Before the tournament was paused, Starc emerged as DC's leading wicket-taker, bagging 14 scalps in twelve innings at a strike rate of 16.28. So, his unavailability could be a big blow to the Capitals, who will play their twelfth group-stage match against Gujarat Titans on Sunday.
