David Warner Adds His Name To 'This' Prestigious T20 WC List With Blistering 39 Vs ENG

David Warner became the fifth highest run scorer in T20 World Cups [X]

David Warner added his name to the top 5 of the precious list of the highest run scorers in the T20 World Cups as the Australians took on their arch-rivals England on Saturday, June 8 in a group B clash at the Kensington Oval in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

England won the toss and Jos Buttler put Australia in to bat first in match 17 of the tournament. The explosive southpaw, unlike the last game where the conditions called for an anchor, got the Aussies to a blistering start upfront along with his opening partner Travis Head.

Warner hammers England to achieve massive record

Warner added a brisk 39 from just 16 deliveries, striking at a whopping 243.75 with four sixes and two fours to his name. Australia found themself cruising at 70/1 in 5 overs when he got out. The start helped them cross the 200-run mark for the first time in this tournament.

This blistering 39 (16) helped the 37-year-old breach the 900-run mark in the T20 World Cups, making him just the fifth batter to do so.
