CSK Draw First Blood in El-Clasico | Restrict MI to 139 Despite Nehal Wadhera's Maiden IPL Fifty

CSK-MI clash is known as the El-clasico of the IPL and there is always a lot of excitement when these two sides take on each other. Now, in the ongoing 49th game of IPL 2023 where CSK and MI are battling out in Chepauk, CSK have delivered a clinical bowling performance to restrict MI to just 139 in the first innings.

Nehal Wadhera was the lone warrior for MI as he got this maiden IPL fifty coming in at number 4 after MI lost two early wickets. Rohit Sharma demoted himself to number 3 in this game as Green walked out to open alongside Ishan Kishan. However, the move did not work as Green, Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma all were gone with just 14 runs on the board for MI. Chahar was the one who picked two wickets with the new ball while Tushar Deshpande knocked over Green.

SKY and Nehal Wadhera did build a decent partnership but Jadeja got rid of Suryakumar Yadav in the 11th over and then Pathirana showed his class yet again in the death with three wickets while giving away just 15 runs in his four overs. We shall also credit Nehal Wadhera though as the young man batted with lot of fluency on a pitch where everyone else struggled.

MI now have a below-par total to defend and it remains to be seen how they go about their business against a strong and confident CSK batting line-up at the Chepauk.
