Shardul Thakur is known as a ' Man with a Golden Arm' and he once again showed that to the world in an intensely contested SRH-KKR game. KKR went onto win the game by 5 runs and Thakur got two big wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Klaasen to stamp his authority in the game. It was a roller-coaster of a game in the end and KKR would be pretty thrilled to take two crucial points from this encounter.

Talking after the match, Shardul Thakur said that his team expects him to pick crucial wickets and the stage was set for him. He added that Klaasen's wicket brought his team back in the game. He also shared his thoughts about Rana's decision to go with Varun Chakaravarthy for the last over and said that captain had a gut feeling to go with Varun and he backed it.

"That's what is expected from me (On picking Klaasen's wicket in a crunch situation). The stage was set for me to pick up a wicket and it allowed us to get back in the game. Captain had a feeling whether he should bowl Varun in the last over. I just had to give confidence to him. I told him to go with the gut feeling."

Shardul also informed that the ball was sticking in the pitch and if one bowled in the right areas, there were rewards to be taken. Thakur added that it has been a difficult season for them with many injuries but felt that this win is important for the side. He talked about Klaasen's dismissal and said that he tried to bowl a fast cutter and hoped for Klaasen to miscue it. He mentioned that the idea was to use off-pace deliveries more on this pitch as the ball was stopping.

"The ball was sticking and if you bowl the right areas, you would get rewards. It was difficult for us with injuries but this win was important for us. On this pitch, I tried to bowl a fast cutter and if he miscues it, I can get his wicket. The ball was stopping a bit when I was batting and the idea was to use off-pace deliveries."

KKR will now play their next game against Punjab Kings on 8th of May at the Eden Gardens.
