Pakistan fast bowler and Quetta Gladiators zealot Naseem Shah was roped in by Islamabad United for the forthcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 season. The young speedster was traded into the United camp during the PSL 2024 players trading window on December 2.

Following the successful trade, Islamabad United legend and Naseem Shah’s national teammate Shadab Khan welcomed the young fast bowler with a heartfelt hug and the footage of their camaraderie instantly went viral across social media.

Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has been part of the Islamabad United franchise in PSL since the 2017 edition of the tournament. Naseem Shah made his PSL debut back in 2019 through the Quetta Gladiators franchise. After his five-year association with the Gladiators, he was traded into Islamabad United while Abrar Ahmed and Mohammad Wasim Jr were relocated to Gladiators from United.

Shah recently featured for Pakistan at the 2023 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. During his team’s high-profile Super Four showdown against arch-rivals India, the young pace maverick slumped to a shoulder injury which subsequently kept him out of the 2023 World Cup.

Shah was also sidelined from Pakistan’s squad for their forthcoming three-match Test tour of Australia, as the youngster continues to attain full recovery from his injury.
