India's star batter Virat Kohli, at 35 years old, is showing no signs of slowing down. He scored 741 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), averaging 61.75 across 15 games.
Virat Kohli is clearly not contemplating retirement as he prepares for India's T20 World Cup campaign in the USA and West Indies.
However, former English captain and cricket analyst Michael Vaughan believes there is only one reason that could potentially make Kohli retire from the game he loves-his family.
What Vaughan said on Kohli's retirement?
"During his time away from the India vs England Test series, I believe he went to London and led a normal life. I've read a few of his comments and quotes and he just absolutely adored that normal life. I think that may take Virat away from cricket, like he just wants to go and have a quiet time for a while" - Vaughan said.
Recently, Virat Kohli discussed his plans for life after cricket. He mentioned that he won't be around the cricket scene for a long time, indicating he intends to spend quality time with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and their two children, Vamika and Akaay.
However, as we all know, nothing can keep Kohli away from cricket for long. According to Kohli, even his daughter has started to pick up a bat, hinting at the family's continued connection to the sport.
At 35 years old, Virat Kohli holds numerous records in white-ball cricket and is also closing the gap in red-ball cricket.
During the 2023 ODI World Cup, Kohli surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record for the most centuries, scoring his 50th ton. Virat Kohli still has got few years in cricket and break more records in cricket.
