The ninth edition of Champions Trophy 2025 is less than two months away. Pakistan will host the prestigious fifty-over event from February 19- March 9.
The 15-match tournament has already hit with several roadblocks, as earlier India refused to travel to Pakistan because of safety concerns and only agreed to a hybrid model. Another one is to get the stadiums ready in time.
Notably, only three stadiums in Pakistan - Gaddafi Stadium, National Stadium, and Rawalpindi Stadium will host the mega-event and are undergoing renovation to provide the best facilities to fans and players.
Worrying Visuals From Gaddafi Stadium Emerges
A few weeks ago, there were reports that the PCB was in a state of panic over the slow rate at which the renovation was happening at these three venues. However, the board was assured that the work would be completed in time.
However, in the latest events, the PCB took to Twitter to post the video of PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi's latest visit to the Gaddafi Stadium, and it has created panic among the fans. In the video, it is visible that still a lot of work is left for the stadiums to get ready, and it looks tough to get it all done in just 44 days.
New Floodlights Installed At Gaddafi Stadium
Despite the worrying visuals, the work is in full swing at the Gaddafi Stadium as they recently installed new floodlights. Further, screen stands are also being installed and the work would soon be completed.
Nonetheless, the PCB faces a race against time as Champions Trophy 2025 is just 45 days away and Australia-England will play the first match here in the prestigious event on February 22.
