Young India's captain, Shubman Gill, is all set to join Team India directly in Zimbabwe for the five-match T20I series, which is set to commence on July 6 in Harare.

Currently in the United States, Gill will meet the team in Zimbabwe, while the other team members have departed from India.

This new Indian team will be coached by former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman. Gill, who has been on a break, was part of the T20 World Cup 2024 squad as a travel reserve along with Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed but was later released after the US leg.

Gill will lead a squad featuring several standout performers from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

However, Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shivam Dube, along with Rinku Singh and Khaleel Ahmed, will not be part of the Zimbabwe series due to delays caused by Cyclone Beryl in Barbados as per the reports. The affected players will join the team once weather conditions improve and travel becomes possible.

The series, beginning on July 6 at Harare Sports Club, promises to be an exciting showcase of India's emerging talent under the leadership of Shubman Gill.

India’s updated squad for the T20I series against Zimbabwe:
