Captain Babar Azam's Torrid Run Continues as Pakistan Loses Against Australia

Team Pakistan are having a hard time at the World Cup 2023. After a couple of successive wins, Babar's men have lost two on the trot as they faced defeat against the Aussies tonight. Captain Babar's poor run at the tournament continues as he threw his wicket to Adam Zampa scoring just 18.

If Team Pakistan wants to get to the knock-out stage of the tournament, Babar Azam should step up and score some runs in the middle overs, the point where everything is going wrong for the Pakistan team. Mohammad Rizwan has been playing an exceptional brand of cricket but he needs some assistance from the other end as well and that's what Babar and other middle-order batters of Pakistan should look to do.

Babar Azam averages 20.75 in the World Cup 2023

Due to Mohammad Rizwan's consistency, the Pakistan team managed to win the first two games. But now as they are facing tougher teams like India and Australia, they cannot win with just one player performing and it has to be a complete team effort.

In the four innings, captain Babar has just scored 83 runs including one fifty which came against India. He has the third-worst average among the captains in the World Cup 2023. Even though he played a couple of good knocks in the warm-up games, he hasn't been up to the mark in the first four matches.

We are almost halfway to the tournament and only four captains average under 22 among the 10 teams. Shakib Al Hasan averages 18.33, Temba Bavuma averages 19.66, Babar Azam averages 20.75 and the last is Pat Cummins with an average of 21.50. Even Pat Cummins averages more than Babar Azam.

Team Pakistan will now be heading to Chennai to face the Afghanistan team on the 23rd of October and will look to gain some momentum before their big clash against South Africa.
