A gutsy batting effort followed by a clinical bowling performance saw Trinbago Knight Riders Women outfox the Barbados Royals Women by 29 runs at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts on Friday, August 26.

Chasing the victory target of 94 runs, Barbados Women could never really get the momentum in their batting and kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Chinelle Henry, with 37 off 29 balls, was their highest scorer as the Royals could only manage to reach 63 runs for five, losing the contest by 29 runs.

Trinbago Knight Riders' bowlers had the upper hand right from the get-go as they never allowed the opposition batters to find their feet in the middle.

The right-arm quick Geetika Kodali was their most impressive bowler, having scalped three wickets. Sheneta Grimmond and Sune Luus also claimed a wicket each.

Deandra Dottin steers Knight Riders to 92/3

Earlier, Trinbago Knight Riders asked to bat first finished off with 92 for three in their stipulated 10 overs thanks mainly to their skipper Deandra Dottin's 46 off 34.

Sune Luus and Lee-Ann Kirby also played a couple of handy knocks for the Knight Riders. While the Protea batter hammered 25 runs from 17 deliveries, Kirby chipped in with 9-ball 16. For Barbados Royals Women, only Sana Fatima could manage to scalp a wicket.

Brief Score:

Trinbago Knight Riders Women: 92/3 (10 Overs)

Deandra Dottin 46 (34), Sune Luus 25 (17); Fatima Sana 1-9 (2)

Barbados Royals Women: 63/5 (10 Overs)

Chinelle Henry 37 (29), Reniece Boyce 18 (21); Geetika Kodali 3-6 (2), Sune Luus 1-9 (2)

Trinbago Knight Riders Women won by 29 runs.
