Bengaluru Blasters will be up against Gulbarga Mystics in the Maharaja T20 Trophy 2022 final, eyeing the ultimate prize at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Friday, August 26. 

Bengaluru Blasters were outstanding in Qualifier 1 with their skipper Mayank Agarwal leading the team from the front with the bat. They decimated Gulbarga by 44 runs to graft their way to the final of the tournament. 

Speaking of Gulbarga, after suffering a heavy thrashing at the hands of Bengaluru Blasters in the first Qualifier, they bounced back stronger in Qualifier 2 and outsmarted Mysore Warriors by six wickets to secure a berth in the final. 

Bengaluru and Gulbarga have so far faced each other thrice in the tournament where the Mayank Agarwal-led outlet pocketed two wins while the Mystics have one.

Both teams have played an excellent brand of cricket throughout the season. Heading into the summit clash of the Karnataka T20 extravaganza, whoever soaks up the pressure well will come out victorious.

  • Mayank Agarwal: He has been in a consistent run of form in the tournament, scoring 480 runs in 11 matches at an average of 53.33 and strike rate of 167.25. He currently leads the batting charts and will probably finish the tournament as the highest run-scorer.
  • Rohan Patil: The 21-year-old left-handed batter has amassed 359 runs in 11 matches at an average of 39.89 and a strike rate of 165.44. In the first Qualifier against Bengaluru, he belted the bowlers all over the park, scoring 108 runs off just 49 deliveries.
  • Devdutt Padikkal: The 22-year-old whacked an unbeaten 96 off just 64 balls in the Qualifier 2 and helped his side secure an easy win. Overall he has accumulated 329 runs in nine innings at an average of 47 and strike rate of 117.50.
  • Vidhwath Kaverappa: With 17 wickets in 12 matches, the right-arm quick is the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament. He has picked five wickets in the last three matches.
