Jamaica Tallawahs (JT) won by 55 runs against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SNP) in Match 2 of the 6ixty Men's Competition 2022 on Thursday (August 25) at Basseterre, St. Kitts.

Power-hitting propel Tallawahs to a daunting total

Batting first, Tallawahs's key players Kennar Lewis and Amir Jangoo could not provide a notable contribution.

However, Rovman Powell was confident and went all guns blazing from the word go, and displayed his power and class. He hit 32 off 13, comprising three fours and as many sixes.

In the end, Fabian Allen (45 off 18) and Raymon Reifer (38* off 19) were destructive to help the team to finish on a total of 139.

Jon-Russ Jaggesar was the pick of the bowlers for the Patriots with figures of 1/13 in two overs.

Big Guns fail to secure a win for Patriots

Although Patriots had a dangerous top-order capable of chasing down any total, they were dismissed early. Evin Lewis (15), Chris Gayle (9) and Andre Fletcher (6) fell to the skilful bowling unit of Tallawahs.

The talented youngster Dewald Brevis hit a scintillating 34 off 11 balls, with five sixes and emerged as the top-scorer, as Patriots were all-out for 84.

Migael Pretorius, Nicholson Gordon and Jamie Merchant scalped two wickets apiece for Tallawahs to secure a 55-run victory.

Brief Scores:

Jamaica Tallawahs - 139/6 (100b)
