Trouble seems to be brewing for former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin, who found his name missing from the voter's list of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).

As reported by New Indian Express, the single-member committee chaired by former Supreme Court judge L Nageswara Rao issued his order yesterday, which also bans the cricketer from contesting in upcoming HCA elections.

Azharuddin, who is also the current president of HCA stands disqualified on grounds of violating norms. The batter was disqualified after he was found as president of the Deccan Blues Club.

The Rao-led committee collected reports from DBC as well, where Azharuddin is president as per meeting records.

Meanwhile, an election notification for the HCA elections and nominations have been issued for the post of president, vice president, secretary, and assistant secretary.

The deadline is between October 11 and 13, while nominations will be scrutinised on October 14. The polling will take place on October 20, with results being announced on the same day.

The cricketer-turned-politician is also the working as president of Telangana Congress since 2018.

As a cricketer, the former Indian captain was known for being classical and extremely wristy. The 60-year-old featured in 99 Tests, and 334 ODIs for India, scoring 6,215 and 9,378 runs, respectively, while slamming 29 international centuries.

Banned for match-fixing by BCCI in 2000, the player had his life ban revoked in 2012 by Andhra Pradesh High Court.
