RCB not to be blamed [Source: @Biju_Vaisyathil/x.com]
What was supposed to be a great day of celebration for the newly crowned defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), turned out to be a dark day for the entire nation as a stampede like situation took place outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and 11 people died due to the mishap and mismanagement outside the ground.
Hasty preparation, lack of adequate planning and a massive rush of fans led to at-least 11 people dead and 50 injured in the massacre. Visuals showed several fans being fainted and crushed in a stampede like situation as things got haywire.
People blaming RCB for such situation
Several visuals were shown from inside the Chinnaswamy Stadium where the RCB players were enjoying, laughing and were having a gala time and on the opposite side, fans were dying due to the mis-happening.
Hence, a lot of people are blaming the RCB players for continuing their celebration despite the event taking place outside the stadium.
"Even in the 20th century people would know someone d!ed an hour ago, and we are not living in dark ages. Shameless celebration, shameless people, not even a condolence tweet, aak thu!"
"Ridiculous, They celebrate when 11 people died? Shameless people!"
Why RCB should not be blamed
For starters, the players never asked for a parade, instead, it was the State Government's idea to felicitate the players. There were two ceremonies, one at the Vidhana Soudha, where the Chief Minister honoured the team and other venue was Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Since Vidhana Soudha is a VIP area, most of the Police forces were deployed at that venue and this left with very little personnel at the Chinnaswamy Stadium and it created a havoc and mis-happening.
Plus, the government admitted that the felicitation ceremony was a last minute event and the turnaround was underestimated.
