The defending champions are not having a great time at the World Cup 2023. Having lost two out of their first three games, England will be on a path of redemption from here on if they want to keep themselves alive in the tournament.

Ben Stokes, the backbone of this English team, hasn't played a single game in this World Cup so far due to a small niggle. England would be pleased to have him back and strengthen their middle order. England's coach has confirmed that Stokesy will be playing his first game of this World Cup.

Even the England team knows the importance of having Stokes in the middle order, who can play according to the situation like he did in the game against New Zealand and went on to score 182.

The match-winner of the last World Cup, Ben Stokes is set to play his first game of the World Cup 2023

Captain Jos Buttler is missing a  man who snatched the victory alone from the mouth of the Kiwis in the final of the 2019 World Cup by scoring an unbeaten 84 and helping his team lift the World Cup for the first time in the history of cricket.

And why won't he when Stokes has all the experience and the skill set to perform under immense pressure and deliver it for the team? But it seems like, Buttler's wish has come true, as Ben Stokes will be featuring in the game against the Proteas on the 21st of October.

England would not want to lose a single game from here on and considering they are yet to play teams like India South Africa and Australia, they need Ben Stokes even if he is 99% fit. England management also took a call on Chris Woakes and have decided to stick with him for the next game, confirms Matthew Mott.
