Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar has lauded Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, suggesting that he could currently be the best cricketer globally due to his remarkable all-round skills.

All the world, there has been a debate going around on who among the two - Jadeja and Ben Stokes - is a better all-rounder.

While Jadeja has always been impressive with the ball, his recent batting displays have added a new dimension to his contributions. Gavaskar specifically highlighted Jadeja's innings of 87 runs from 180 balls against England in the ongoing Test in Hyderabad.

Jadeja's innings, laced with seven boundaries and two sixes, played a crucial role in India posting a total of 436 runs in the first innings, securing a substantial 190-run lead over England.

Gavaskar underlined the value Jadeja brings to the team across all three departments—batting, bowling, and fielding. Additionally, he praised Jadeja's positive influence and sense of humor in the dressing room.

“Jadeja is probably the best cricketer in the world with the contribution he makes with bat, ball and in the field. He adds so much value to the team and by all accounts he is an absolute delight in the changing room as well," Gavaskar said while praising Jadeja.

During the Test match in Hyderabad, Jadeja not only excelled with the bat but also contributed with the ball, picking three wickets for 88 runs to assist in bowling out England.

Jadeja's consistent performances have earned him the top spot in the ICC Test rankings, a position he has held for an extended period.

England bowled well in the first innings of day 3 as they prevented India from taking a lead of 200. However, the English batters have come out with a positive mindset in the third innings of the Test match.

Ben Stokes and company have secured a lead over the Indians, thanks to Ollie Pope's brilliant show with the bat on Day 3.
