After endless T20 thrills, the Indian fans are moving towards the unreal red ball thrills. While the senior team prepares for a high-stakes five-match Test series against England, the India A squad has also left for England for two unofficial Tests.

As the team has already left for the series, BCCI’s Centre of Excellence bowling coach, Troy Cooley, has joined the India A squad as their bowling coach.

Troy Cooley Steps In As India A’s Bowling Coach For England Tour

After a long time, the red ball thrills are coming back as the Indian side is set to take on England in a thrilling five-match Test series. Alongside the senior Indian side, India A team will also face England Lions in two unofficial Test matches. As the series is starting on May 30, the team has already left for England.

As the team is set to take on the English challenges, the BCCI played a masterstroke. Australian pace expert Troy Cooley, currently with BCCI’s Centre of Excellence, joins the India A squad as their bowling coach for the series.

Since 2021, Cooley has been associated with NCA as the BCCI appointed him as the fast bowling coach to bring out the best talents from the ground level. Cooley was a crucial Member of England’s historic 2005 Ashes campaign.

Andrew Flintoff, Matthew Hoggard, Simon Jones, and Steve Harmison's rise to success was partly credited to Troy Cooley’s influence and guidance. His current association with the young Indian players will bring out some of the best talents from the country.

Eashwaran To Lead The India A Side

As Test cricket has come back, the India A side has already left for England, as the series is commencing on May 30. The BCCI has named a strong 18-member squad, with Bengal’s Abhimanyu Eashwaran taking charge as captain. After the opener, they’ll face the England Lions on June 6, followed by an intra-squad match against the senior Indian team on June 13.
